Introduction
These Terms govern participation in MAAT K12 educational programs and use of our website, enrollment systems, educational platforms, academic resources, and other related services. MAAT K12 provides virtual private-school education for Pre-Kindergarten through 12th-grade students. By enrolling or using authorized services, individuals agree to the applicable terms to the extent permitted by law.
1. Educational Model
MAAT K12 provides online academic programs, curriculum resources, assessments, instructional services, tutoring, and related educational activities. The legal classification of participation may vary by jurisdiction. Enrollment does not automatically satisfy the education or attendance requirements of every state or country.
2. Parent And Guardian Responsibilities
Parents and guardians are responsible for meeting applicable educational obligations in their jurisdiction, providing accurate enrollment information, supporting participation, and maintaining any records required of them. MAAT K12 does not provide individualized legal advice about homeschooling or attendance laws.
3. Student Supervision And Safety
Virtual education does not transfer physical custody or general supervision of students to the school. Unless specifically agreed in writing, MAAT K12 does not offer in-person childcare, babysitting, or custodial supervision. Parents and guardians remain responsible for age-appropriate supervision and safety in the student's physical environment.
4. Attendance And Participation
Students are expected to follow applicable school attendance, assignment, and participation procedures. Families should support regular engagement and communicate barriers to participation. MAAT K12 may keep attendance and participation records necessary for school operations.
5. Academic Programs
Courses and services may include English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, History, Social Studies, technology, electives, enrichment, and related disciplines. Course availability, instructional schedules, and academic services may differ by grade or program.
6. Educational Staff And Volunteers
Education and operations may be supported by authorized instructors, staff, contractors, tutors, and trained volunteers. Volunteers carry out approved assignments and do not independently provide services requiring a professional license unless duly qualified and authorized.
7. Volunteer Service And Corporate Giving
Volunteer service must be genuine, accurately logged, and verified through authorized procedures. Company-sponsored benefits, grants, or Volunteer Paid Time Off depend on each employer's rules. MAAT K12 does not guarantee those benefits.
8. Nondiscrimination
MAAT K12 seeks to maintain a respectful educational community and comply with applicable nondiscrimination laws. Reports of unlawful discrimination, harassment, or retaliation may be submitted through established school channels and will be addressed as required by law and policy.
9. Student And Family Conduct
All participants are expected to communicate respectfully and use educational tools appropriately. Bullying, threats, harassment, impersonation, unlawful discrimination, unauthorized recording, misuse of information, and material disruption of school services are prohibited.
10. Technology Requirements
Families generally provide a compatible device, adequate internet access, and other required equipment unless an applicable written agreement provides otherwise. Third-party systems may experience maintenance or outages. The school will use reasonable procedures to communicate material service interruptions.
11. Tuition And Fees
Current tuition, assessment charges, payment schedules, optional costs, refund terms, and other financial obligations will be provided through published program information and/or applicable written agreements before commitment. Outdated advertising amounts do not override executed agreements or applicable law.
12. Next Gen Full-Tuition Scholarship
The Next Gen Scholarship Program is designed to provide full tuition funding for up to 300 eligible, approved MAAT K12 students per academic year. A qualifying award may cover 100% of the tuition specified in the written scholarship offer. Scholarships are limited, subject to funding and selection, and are not guaranteed by applying or enrolling. Other expenses are not covered unless expressly stated. Continuation or renewal depends on the written award terms.
13. Assessments And Tutoring
Assessments, tutoring, supplemental instruction, and specialized services may be included in a program or offered for separate fees. Service descriptions and charges will be communicated before enrollment or purchase.
14. No Guarantee Of Specific Outcomes
MAAT K12 aims to support academic growth but cannot guarantee specific grades, test scores, college admission, scholarship outcomes, employment, or other individual results. Outcomes are affected by individual circumstances, participation, learning needs, and multiple external factors.
15. Student Records And Privacy
The school collects and maintains information reasonably necessary for enrollment, education, student support, and school operations, subject to its Privacy Policy and applicable law. Authorized access to student information is limited by roles and legitimate purposes. Families may request records according to applicable policies and legal requirements.
16. Video Conferencing And Recordings
Online instruction may include video, audio, and interactive communication. School recording, notices, and consent requirements are governed by applicable law and policy. Participants must not capture or distribute others' images, voices, coursework, or personal information without authorization.
17. Intellectual Property
MAAT K12 original curriculum, graphics, lesson materials, and other proprietary content are protected by applicable law. Third-party materials remain subject to their owners' rights and licenses. Access does not authorize unauthorized resale, redistribution, or commercial reproduction.
18. Third-Party Platforms
Educational and administrative services may rely on external platforms. Applicable third-party terms may govern use of those services. MAAT K12 will seek to use services suitable for their educational purpose and applicable privacy requirements.
19. User Responsibility
Families remain responsible for their own actions, lawful use of services, and appropriate supervision during virtual learning. Nothing in these Terms waives protections or remedies that cannot lawfully be waived.
20. Limitation Of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, MAAT K12 is not responsible for loss caused solely by independent household internet failures, user misuse, or events outside its reasonable control. Nothing excludes liability or statutory rights that cannot legally be limited.
21. No Professional Advice
General educational information is not legal, medical, financial, mental-health, or other licensed professional advice. Families seeking specialized professional evaluation or services should consult appropriate qualified providers.
22. Changes To Programs
The school may update curricula, instructional methods, systems, schedules, or procedures consistent with agreements and applicable law. Material changes affecting enrolled families will be communicated when required.
23. Account Restriction Or Termination
Access may be limited or terminated when reasonably necessary to address serious misuse, safety concerns, material policy violations, or unmet program obligations. Applicable notice, due process, student safety, and legal requirements continue to apply.
24. Governing Law And Severability
These Terms are governed by California law except where non-waivable laws of other jurisdictions apply. If any provision is invalid, the remaining provisions continue to the extent legally permitted.
25. Changes And Related Agreements
MAAT K12 may revise these Terms, identify new effective dates, and provide additional notice when legally required. Applicable enrollment, scholarship, privacy, payment, and consent agreements may supplement these Terms.
